Sir Suma Chakrabarti
President of the EBRD

"The promotion of the role and status of women in the workplace is a key driver in helping us drive economic progress in our countries of operations. We are employing the same passionate commitment in ensuring that our organisation is equally inclusive internally, and at all levels.

"Each year the 8th of March provides us with the annual occasion to reflect on the great strides that women have made, and continue to make, in the workplace and beyond. However, it is also an opportunity to reflect on the work still to be done if society’s true potential is ever to be fully realised. Equipping women with the tools to achieve their full potential in the workplace empowers us all.

"The promotion of the role and status of women in the workplace is a key driver for the EBRD, and the shared values of gender equality and inclusion underpin our work through our Strategy for the Promotion of Gender Equality. We promote a vision for a future of the countries where the EBRD works in which women and men, regardless of socio-economic status, have the same rights and opportunities to access finance and assets, establish and lead business, participate in decision-making processes affecting their lives and have equal and safe access to public services.

"The EBRD is employing the same passionate commitment in ensuring that our organisation is equally inclusive internally, and at all levels."
