Illustrator Anna Siviero explains the process behind her Give to Gain design

Lettering provides a great opportunity for self-expression and statement-making, and it is through this creativity that we can all help forge greater awareness about gender equality.

For a seventh year, the Typism Community collaborates on the annual International Women's Day (IWD) Lettering Challenge.

Here, we shine a spotlight on one such creative, Anna Siviero, and showcase her IWD 2026 Give to Gain design.

Explaining her concept

Anna Siviero is an illustrator, graphic designer, lettering artist, and choir singer who lives in Padua in Italy.

Anna explains the concept behind her Give to Gain design, and what the camapign theme means to her.

"Each year to support International Women's Day, an Annual Lettering Challenge is run with the global Typism community to help raise awareness about gender equality through creativity," says Anna.

"This year’s theme is Give to Gain.  What does that mean to me? It means, in times of deep turmoil like these, being of service to others will help us ground ourselves and feel a sense of purpose back into our veins. Applying this to IWD 2026 means also having a knowledge of privileges, and to be brave enough to stay in the discomfort for long enough to finally change for the better, and gain trust back from the people we love and repair our relationship with. Long story short: give away your comfort to gain trust, stronger bonds and community," explains Anna.
