McLaren Racing marks International Women's Day, giving great inspiration and insight

McLaren Racing is a strong advocate for gender equality in motorsport.

International Women's Day (IWD) saw McLaren Racing generously give some truly great inspiration from across their community.

"In the spirit of International Women’s Day, we asked the team for the best advice they’ve ever received and their top tips for entering the world of motorsport. We believe in the power of Give To Gain, supporting others by sharing knowledge we've gained on and away from track," said McLaren.

An impressive track record supporting women's advancement

McLaren Racing is a brilliant supporter of women’s advancement in motorsport and invests in initiatives that expand opportunities both on and off the track.

The team participates in the development pathway created by F1 Academy, which supports talented female drivers to progress into the highest level of motorsport.

By backing emerging female racers and creating visibility for women competing at high levels, McLaren contributes to widening access to a sport that has historically had significant gender barriers.

Beyond driving talent, McLaren also focuses on improving representation in engineering, technology, and leadership roles within its organisation.

Through education partnerships, mentorship programmes, and outreach initiatives aimed at young women pursuing careers in STEM, the team works to encourage broader participation in motorsport’s technical and operational side.

Together, these efforts reflect a long-term commitment to fostering a more inclusive environment and helping create pathways for the next generation of women in motorsport.

Did you know McLaren has a target for 40% of the team to come from underrepresented groups by 2030?

A great journey!
