Leading the next generation
Amanda Larkin, Chief Exec, South Western Sydney Local Health District
IWD 2020
We are in the heart of one of the fastest growing and most vibrant regions in Australia, and with this growth there is opportunity for the next generation of female leaders.
At South Western Sydney Local Health District, our female leaders are managing some of the busiest hospitals in the country, manage multi-million dollar budgets and are dedicated to improving and supporting the health of our community.
We have women working as general managers, service directors and heads of departments, leading our high quality care and saving lives.
We are leading by example in the campaign for gender equity with almost 11,000 women making up 73 per cent of our workforce of 15,000. We value their talents, knowledge and skills, and actively encourage and support women through education, training and mentorship to succeed in their professional lives.
I am proud that equality and inclusion is the foundation of this organisation, and where women - and men - collectively demonstrate the values of #EachforEqual.
I look forward to the continuing empowerment of women as equals not only in south western Sydney, but across Australia and the world.
