Pushing ourselves to be a great, inclusive, diverse organization
Karenann Terrell, Chief Digital & Technology Officer, GSK
IWD 2020
We are committed to improving gender balanced representation at GSK and apply fair and equitable pay practices.
We must start with the concept of inclusion where every individual will have every single opportunity to have their voice heard.
We can’t just talk about inclusion in the diversity story, we have to show how we walk that talk.
As a sponsor of GSK’s Global Gender Council and our Accelerating Difference programme which has coached and supported 130 high-performing female managers in 2019, I have great energy for where the greatest contribution and impact can be made to the Inclusion and Diversity agenda.
GSK has set a goal of over 37% female representation in senior roles by 2022, and we continue to improve gender balance by encouraging and supporting more women to develop as leaders.
We conduct country-based reviews and ensure all markets have clear guidance, tools and support to ensure pay equity. As a result of our efforts to develop our female employees during 2019, three women from GSK were included in the Women’s Engineering Society Top 50 Women in Engineering, GSK India was also named by Avtar (India’s premier diversity and inclusion firm) as among the best companies for women to work for.
We cannot be satisfied with our status quo and near-term goals and must push ourselves to be a great, inclusive, diverse organization and we must, both internally and externally, commit to progress and being #EachforEqual.
