Igniting Change at Every Level
Steven Malony, CEO, Belkin International
IWD 2022
Our team’s diversity should reflect the communities we serve and the world we share.
Here at Belkin, we embrace that a mix of talents, perspectives, and strengths from diverse backgrounds will result in a more dynamic and creative workplace. The women at Belkin are often the drivers of our bold leaps forward.
The technology industry notoriously lacks women representation, despite women making up roughly 40% of the global workforce. I acknowledge our room for growth in this area and am still proud to confirm that over 40% of our international workforce at Belkin are women.
Our Women’s Network Group aims to create an internal network of Belkin employees who wish to collaboratively offer support for professional development and inspiration. The Women’s Network Group, similar to our other employee resource groups, advances the understanding and inclusion of employees with a common background, set of interests and/or goals. This past year we also launched and co-created Portal Schools, located at our headquarters in California. Portal Schools is an emerging network of independent high schools in Los Angeles. We value our partnership with Portal as a reflection of our commitments to further developing the tech industry’s talent pipeline and increasing representation.
I believe that sharing some of the ideas that we are executing upon at Belkin will help inspire others in the tech industry. However, it’s clear we have a lot of work to do collectively and on this International Women’s Day we renew our commitment to that challenge.
Let’s #BreaktheBias together.
