Today, water threats around the world are escalating, from climate change, to urbanization, to the urgent need for clean water to stop the spread of disease. These issues often impact women and girls disproportionately. According to WHO/UNICEF, women and girls around the world spend 200 million hours each day collecting water, often depriving them from realizing their full potential and development.
Xylem is a global water technology company dedicated to solving water through innovation. One key way we are doing this is by building a diverse and inclusive organization that fosters a vibrant exchange of ideas. We work across the water sector and beyond to foster business practices that empower women, including signing the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles. Our corporate social responsibility program, Xylem Watermark, focuses on providing humanitarian clean water access, disaster response and WASH education to communities facing the most dire water challenges.
