DairyTas International Women's Day - Women in Dairy Lunch

When: March 8, 2023

Where: Tasmania, Australia

REGISTER

Are you keen to be part of the very first IWD event for the Tasmanian Dairy Industry?

This day is all about you, and it’s your time to shine!

Whilst the growth rate of your pasture or the quality of your milk will not be the focus for the day, we can promise you that all talk is going to be centred around celebrating the fabulous women who either work in (or service) the Tasmanian Dairy Industry.

The spotlight will be shining brightly on many faces within our industry, and the goal is for you to walk away having made new friends with women working on farms within your local community and those in your neighbouring regions.

Yes ladies, there will be much thought-provoking discussion and open conversations to be had, as well as a diverse panel of women in dairy who are going to share their everyday insights into their life on farm, and you will not want to miss our Guest Speaker, who is a breath of fresh air, young and a real upcoming talent in the agriculture industry.

GUEST SPEAKER: Georgia Rose Gorham
The global theme for IWD 2023 is #EmbraceEquity, and DairyTas have chosen a guest speaker who fully embraces this theme in both her professional and personal lives.

Compassionate, Resilient and above all Passionate in every. single. thing she does. Georgia Gorham is a fabulous example of a young woman determined to succeed in her career within the Agricultural Industry. Her story is one of sheer determination, coupled with a passion for her chosen field and we are so excited for Georgia to share her story with you. We think you’ll all agree that whilst she’s had some hard knocks along the way, her resilience has paved the way for many young women to follow in her footsteps.

“Growing up and beginning her career in the Northern Territory, Georgia moved across Australia chasing opportunities to get her one step closer of becoming a livestock agent. Her early days in the field forced her to build resilience in an industry wrought with controversial political issues and the challenges of an industry dominated by men.

After years of perseverance and hard work, she secured a role in Tasmania with now what is one of the largest agricultural companies in Australia. Georgia believes that hiring people based on their abilities and merit is imperative to supporting the future of the agricultural industry”
