Accelerate Action and Transformation for a Sustainable Future
Noboru Saito, President & CEO, TDK Corporation
IWD 2025
"I am very happy and proud to make my first IWD statement of support.
"Supporting International Women's Day (IWD) is aligned with the inclusive leadership practices that are a key enabler of our Long-Term Vision of TDK Transformation as well as a critical component of our People Strategy. Additionally, it is aligned with our Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) commitment and our support of the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, in particular Sustainable Development Goal #5 – Gender Equality.
"TDK has historically supported the development and advancement of our female team members, but it was not until last year when we first formally participated in International Women’s Day on a global scale.
"Colleagues around the world recognized International Women’s Day in a number of ways, including wearing purple as a show of support, decorating company entrances with mimosas, and having a celebratory meal for women to support each other and discuss the challenges faced by women in the workplace.
"We launched our internal WOMEN@TDK series of articles to recognize the achievements of our female colleagues and give them a platform to share their experience and perspectives across the organization.
"I was proud to dedicate my own President’s Message to IWD and the contributions of our female colleagues.
"In 2025, we aim to keep with the IWD theme of 'Accelerate Action' and take the next step in our journey of showing support and demonstrating TDK as a place where everyone can work to their potential, be recognized, create impact, and truly feel a sense of belonging.
"Making this statement of support for the IWD website is just one small example of a step in my own journey of being an advocate and ally not only for TDK’s female team members, but all women.
"I encourage everybody to start (or continue) their journey of allyship and advocacy. It may be awkward at first, but this is natural.
"As expressed in TDK’s Values and our Corporate Principles, have a Vision for the positive change you want to be in the world, the Courage to push forward and take risks, and the Trust in others to support you along the way. By doing this you will help create a beautiful future where everybody can live up to their full potential in a world without barriers."
