Norwest Sunrise Rotary Club’s International Women's Day Breakfast will be on Friday 7th March in the Hills Shire Café (3 Columbia Court, Baulkham Hills just past Rydges) at 7.00 am for buffet breakfast and tea/coffee/juice. First guest speaker introduced at 7.30 am. Cost is $35.
Local business owners and interested parties are invited to join us for a business breakfast and networking event to celebrate International Women's Day for 2025. In line with IWD2025 theme of ‘Accelerate Action’ towards gender equality, we have four amazing speakers for this event.
Melissa Monteiro is a visionary leader, advocate, and changemaker dedicated to empowering communities and driving social impact. As the CEO of the Community Migrant Resource Centre (CMRC), she has spent over two decades championing migrant and refugee support services, fostering inclusivity, and creating opportunities for those most in need. Passionate about social justice and leadership, Melissa’s expertise spans community development, policy advocacy, and strategic partnerships. Her work is a testament to the power of resilience, compassion, and collaboration in building a more equitable and connected society.
Associate Professor Dr. Nicole Pearce is a highly respected Nurse, Gerontologist, and Consultant who continues to advocate in federal and international policy areas for aged care and disability. As the CEO of Aged Care Consultancy Australia, she specialises in sustainable clinical governance and corporate governance, helping organisations to implement safer systems, stronger leadership and safeguarding measures to better care for their clients, staff and community alike. Furthermore, her commitment to improved patient outcomes has developed over almost a decade of being a consumer advocate with NSW Health supporting foundation charges in how the health system values and engages with its patients in their care journey.
Azita Abdollahian is the CEO of The Project of You and the Founder and Executive Director of the Shining Light Foundation. A highly regarded therapist, mentor, and relationship expert, she brings over two decades of experience in psychology, personal growth, and emotional well-being. Passionate about helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges, Azita specialises in trauma recovery, relationship dynamics, and transformational coaching, empowering others to heal, grow, and create meaningful connections.
Ubah Gabris is a passionate leader, advocate, and social impact strategist dedicated to empowering communities and fostering inclusivity. As a Project and Implementation Manager and National Deputy Chair for Respect Employee Advocacy Group at Westpac, she brings extensive experience in policy development, human rights advocacy, and multicultural affairs. Ubah is deeply committed to driving positive change, particularly in areas of social justice, refugee and migrant support, and gender equity. Through her leadership and advocacy, she continues to inspire meaningful conversations and initiatives that create lasting impact for diverse communities.
