Listening, Learning, Leading: Advancing Gender Equality Together
Michelle Mikesell, Chief People Officer, G&A Partners
IWD 2025
As we celebrate International Women’s Day, accelerating action toward gender equality begins with listening to one another.
Every individual wants to feel valued, yet we all come from diverse backgrounds.
By seeking to understand each other, we can create meaningful dialogue and inclusivity.
In recent years, we’ve made significant strides in diversity initiatives and implemented impactful programs. However, there is still much more to be done.
At G&A Partners, we have created a unified workforce where everyone feels valued.
We have women's groups that encourage men to participate and seek understanding.
Additionally, we support various employee-led groups, including a group focused on diversity and belonging, a group for veterans, as well as philanthropy and customer service groups, all fostering inclusivity and allowing everyone to engage.
My vision is to reach a point where salary gaps are no longer a concern.
What truly matters is the value you bring to the table.
I would love to see more blind hiring practices that focus solely on skill set, allowing candidates to be evaluated without bias or judgment.
To the next generation of young women who aspire to be leaders and change-makers, my advice is simple: don’t wait for change to happen. Invest in yourself, in your passions, and in your future.
As Gandhi said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
