Join us in celebrating the launch of Beyond Palatable: A manifesto for unapologetic women by local resident Sophie Jane Lee, released on 8th March — a book born from the places where we’ve been silenced, self-edited, and taught to stay within the lines.

A one-night gathering for those who are done shrinking, softening, moulding and diluting themselves to be more palatable.

As part of the UK-wide Reclamation Tour, this evening invites you to explore voice, self-expression, taking up space, and what it really means to be unapologetically you.

What to expect
An immersive, soulful, electric evening that blends performance, participation and reclamation of your full, unapologetic self.

You’ll experience:

Burlesque performances that honour the body as art, story, and power

A singing circle to open the voice and loosen what’s been held back

Guided visualisation to reconnect you to the parts of you that have been edited out and pushed down

Creative expression that explores self-expression and your voice

The chance to create your own unapologetic slogan

A group photoshoot with Roots and Tales, capturing you as you are, not as you’ve been told to be
