Friends of IWD are relationships with community-based grassroots groups and
organizations who tangibly deliver agreed amplification activity to their communities supporting the IWD campaign theme. Activity isn't an event
because IWD events are already listed here, but involve coordination of a specific community-based project to create
aspects supporting the IWD theme. See some examples engaging typographer, street
artist, and rap communities.
Submit the form below to detail the proposed Friend of IWD project to be delivered. Submissions are reviewed and contact made should a proposal be
of interest. Please note, the form below is not intended for groups requesting financial assistance. It is for groups and organizations to detail
the project they are looking to deliver to their own community supporting the IWD theme. Preference is given to global communities.
IMPORTANT: Due to the significant volume of submissions received, only submissions with tangible details about how the
activity specifically amplifies the IWD theme are considered.

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The
day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people.
Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.
