 February 28, 2022

Dubai Expo 2020 sees a special Women's Pavilion.

The Expo marks International Women’s Day with a three-day gathering of world leaders across technology, business, politics, and culture.

Focusing on the 2022 theme of #BreakTheBias, the gathering highlights women's achievements and spotlights further areas for change.

Celebrating women's contribution to culture

Dubai Expo features a two-day music festival We, the Women Festival of Stories, which takes place at Dubai’s Festival Garden.

Celebrating women’s contribution to culture, it features international women artists as well as female-led bands.

Championing women's leadership

The Break The Bias Assembly promotes women’s leadership in diplomacy, industry, health and youth, with the aim of driving progress in gender equality through collaboration and idea-sharing.

The International Women’s Day Forum is a collaboration between Expo 2020 Dubai and Cartier and addresses issues such as women facing widespread and significant barriers to equality, often having limited access to resources and leadership opportunities.

The forum also focuses on the vital need to empower women for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

With the further agenda centering around 10 Theme Weeks, it offers the opportunity to exchange new perspectives and address the challenges and opportunities of our time.

The diverse Dubai Expo 2020 program reflects the 2022 #BreakTheBias IWD theme that aims to help achieve a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination, and one that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

Programming during the expo also builds on the World Expo’s focus on the International Day for Women and Girls in Science. This sought to highlight the need to achieve full access and participation in science to enable empowerment and equality.
