Manchester United supported IWD through pushing boundaries for women in sport

 March 18, 2022

The UK's Manchester United Football Club supported International Women’s Day (IWD), reminding that IWD is a day when the world comes together to celebrate the achievements of girls and women everywhere.

At Manchester United, women are playing an ever more important role in the life of the football club, from staff members to women players, to its millions of female fans across the globe.

Manchester United women are game changers

Through the club’s Change the Game campaign, Manchester United celebrated the women who are helping drive gender diversity across Manchester United and transforming attitudes to women in football – on and off the pitch.

The entire club and its Game Changers are continually pushing the boundaries to improve the environment for women in sport, whilst providing a platform to inspire the next generation of players and administrators to do the same.

Setting a vision for the role women play in Manchester United's future

Manchester United not only heard from some of its Game Changers but also female fans on what inspires and motivates them. They also celebrated the important contribution made by women throughout the Club’s history and set out a vision for the key role women will play in shaping the future of Manchester United.
