Women of Influence Award nominations aim to inspire inclusion

Canada's City of Grand Prairie has been calling for nominatioons for their Women of Influence Awards 2024.
The awards, presented by Peace Diagnostic Imaging, recognize local women who have made a strong impact by promoting equality, providing opportunities for women in the community, and breaking barriers in their field.
A celebration of local women
Supporting the IWD 2024 campaign theme of Inspire Inclusion, the awards are a celebration of local women who have made a significant impact in promoting equality, providing opportunities for women, and breaking barriers in their respective fields.
The region is known for its vibrancy, entrepreneurship and continuous growth and these awards are a way to celebrate women’s achievements in making this possible with equal opportunity for all.
Award categories are:
- Young Woman of Influence (under 30 years old)
- Trailblazing Woman of Influence (30-49 years old)
- Distinguished Woman of Influence (50+ years old)
Moving the needle for gender equality
Speaking about the awards, Mayor of Grand Prairie Jackie Clayton said: “The Women of Influence Awards are an annual demonstration of Council’s commitment to an inclusive, caring community, and further, how this in turn supports innovative efficiencies and economic readiness. These awards are an inspirational showcase of the leaders in our community who are moving the needle in their industries and for gender equality, and we look forward to sharing their stories with the community.”
Commemorating International Women’s Day
The Women of Influence Awards were created in 2018 to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD) in Grande Prairie and celebrate women’s achievements while promoting equal opportunity for all.
The awards are made possible through partnership between the City of Grande Prairie, Northwestern Alberta Community Foundation, Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce, Grande Prairie Friendship Centre and Odyssey House.
Recognizing outstanding women
The awards help celebrate and recognize the outstanding women who shape the community, and are held at The Bowes in Bonnetts Energy Centre.
The awards are made possible through partnership between the City of Grande Prairie, Northwestern Alberta Community Foundation, Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce, Grande Prairie Friendship Centre and Odyssey House - supported in part by Peace Diagnostic Imaging, M3M Marketing Inc., and Media Partner 104.7 2DayFM.
Nominations now closed, and were submitted via the City of Grande Prairie team.
