F1 Academy helps Accelerate Action for women in motorsport on and off the track
You can't be what you can't see. But we can see women in motorsport, lots of them!
"To celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day theme of Accelerate Action, we’re highlighting the positive progress made for and by women in our paddock and beyond," says F1 Academy.
F1 Academy is a truly brilliant organisation, providing a global gateway to help drive increased female participation and talent in motorsport through grassroot activities and professional programmes.
International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025 sees F1 Academy showcase some of the many women who play a part in shaping the future of motorsport, as well as in inspiring the next generation who are making their mark.
"The next generation of F1 Academy is really making their mark! All nine of this year’s F1 Academy-supported drivers were in action at Round 1 of the Champions of the Future Academy Program. Accelerating Action in real time. These young drivers are seizing every opportunity to develop and compete, showing exactly what 'Accelerate Action' is all about," says the group.
F1 Academy is lead by the tenacious Susie Wolff MBE, a true icon and fabulous role model for women everywhere.
Susie is a symbol of hope and dreams, helping drive the aspirations of so many women and girls to be included, perform, and succeed.
Did you know Susie was the first woman in 22 years to take part in a Formula 1 weekend when she raced at the 2014 British Grand Prix?
F1 Academy serves an important role inspiring and supporting women in motorsport

Since its launch in 2023, F1 Academy continues to champion driving change in motorsport by providing a platform to inspire and support young girls and women to embark on their own journeys.

And something we all just can't wait for!

As an exciting reminder, an awesome F1 ACADEMY docuseries produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, who is changing the narrative for women, will launch globally on Netflix later this year.
The multi-part, adrenaline-fuelled series will give fans exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the all-women driving category, highlighting the drama of the races, as well as the personal stories and high stakes for the drivers, their teams, sponsors, and families involved, as they break barriers in one of the most demanding sports in the world.
As Managing Director of F1 Academy, Susie Wolff MBE, said: "We want to be the rocket fuel that drives female participation in our sport, both on and off the track. To have the F1 ACADEMY docuseries launch globally with Netflix is not just a huge step forward in visibility for our mission, but also a resounding statement about the momentum and demand for women’s sport. We want to inspire and empower the next generation of young women, and Netflix will open up F1 Academy to a global audience of existing and future fans."
We are so glued, so keep tuned as we all look forward to seeing F1 Academy continue to Accelerate Action for women and girls in motorsport.
