Boyce Ceylan
Gender equality in entrepreneurship, Motivates women business owners to dream bolder, strive stronger, play by their own rules
Ceylan Boyce is a multi-award-winning business strategist & entrepreneurial coach, and international speaker.
She is the co-founder and CEO of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE).
Her mission is to change the current women entrepreneurship facts:
1- Currently, there aren’t enough female business owners
2- Currently, women-owned businesses are often found in low-growth sectors (wellbeing, beauty, fashion and business support), thus making it more challenging to scale up.
3- Women are not well connected to grow their businesses as fast and big as men.
Her vision is the cornerstone of a comprehensive platform to support women entrepreneurs and encourage their growth, both personally and professionally, through training, coaching and networking.
Ceylan was born and raised in Turkey. She left her birth country at the age of 17 to study and work in the USA, France and the UK consecutively.
Since 2017, she has dedicated her know-how, expertise and energy to being part of the change by building her journey as a gender equality activist and founding a large community of women entrepreneurs thanks to Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) in March 2020.
In 2 years, AWE reached +2500 members, delivered over 1000 hours of workshops and coaching, trained hundreds of women from all over the world.
Ceylan continues to inspire, educate and motivate women to dream bolder, strive stronger and play by their own rules to build the business they want!
Her inspirational speech will be about breaking gender equality biases in entrepreneurship!
Bias number 1: Women-owned businesses are more like side hassles
Bias number 2: Women can not grow their businesses because they are more focused on family
Bias number 3: Women suffer from imposter syndrome and are risk-averse; therefore, they are less likely to grow and scale their businesses
Ceylan will break all these biases with real-life success stories of women who fought hard during Covid to protect and grow their businesses.
She will share stats to give perspective on the scope of the problem and will propose a way forward.
Her audiences are entrepreneurs, decision-makers, investors, banks and any audience concerned about bringing gender equality in entrepreneurship.
The main goal of the speech is to inspire women entrepreneurs and their supporters (investors, banks, finance providers, local authorities) to grow and scale their businesses and encourage other stakeholders to support women micro-business owners in their journey to growth.
Ceylan can adapt her speech to engage with different types of audiences.
