Advocate for diversity, inclusion and belonging, particularly for women and the LGBQT+ community

Claire has 20 years of experience of consulting in the energy sector, with skills in strategy, energy transition and transactions.

She has worked for a range of clients in the energy industry such as global energy majors, governments, national energy companies, commodity traders and investors. She has extensive experience of working globally with cross border assignments and teams.

In her role as leader and influencer, the energy practice has been expanding – with a growing team of over 40 experts in EMEA, and a deepening of services in value creation, restructuring, transactions and business performance improvement.

Most recently, Claire has played a pivotal role in leading a refresh of the Energy go-to-market strategy in the EMEA region to enable the business to best suit the needs of its clients, which has included co-ordination of stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

Claire’s energy team are differentiated in the market for supporting energy and energy intensive sectors with the energy transition to a lower carbon world, and for helping clients commercialize their changing portfolios.

Claire and her team, work with senior and influential clients who are part of driving systemic change in how we produce and consume more energy in a cleaner way.

Claire is respected widely in energy as a thought leader and has co-authored several thought leaderships articles, reports, and is a media and event speaker, on the topics of energy transition, women in energy, and economics (e.g., World Economic Forum).

She is an advocate for diversity, inclusion and belonging, particularly for women and the LGBQT+ community. Claire Lawrie is actively involved in the mentoring of employees across geographies and disciplines with emphasis on everyday coaching, feedback, and sponsorship of women in the workplace.

Claire is an avid supporter of DIB initiatives to promote the inclusion and belonging of LGBTQ community. She recently shared lessons on a speaker series on EMEA Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Speaker Series alongside Dame Inga Beale on LGBT+ lessons for corporate life.

The purpose of this EMEA DIB speaker series is to continue the conversation and education around all aspects of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging. It provides the opportunity to learn about the experience of others and we hope that from these conversations we will all gain more understanding and confidence to challenge and drive change.
