ABOUT DR. ANGELA WILLIAMSON
Dr. Angela Sadler Williamson’s 2020 Emmy nominated documentary film “My Life with Rosie,” about the activism of her cousin Rosa Parks, has won numerous “Best Documentary” titles at film festivals across the country. PBS recently acquired the film, and Dr. Williamson’s companion book, international best-seller “My Life with Rosie: A Bond Between Cousins” was named “Best Children’s Book about Black History” by Mothering magazine.
Dr. Williamson has over 25 years of experience in broadcast TV, cable news and higher education industries. She obtained her undergraduate and graduate degrees from California State University, Fullerton, in Mass Communications, and her doctorate in Human Services with a specialization in Management of Nonprofit Agencies from Capella University in Minnesota. Dr. Williamson is currently an associate communication studies professor at Rio Hondo Community College in Whittier, CA.
Dr. Williamson is a former producer and copywriter for the Orange County News Channel, Fox 11 Television, Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket and a multiple Telly awards recipient. She continues to leverage her marketing and TV skills for social good by involving herself in Southern California-based projects or organizations that focus on improving the communities they serve.
Dr. Williamson hosts a weekly interview show on KLCS PBS “Everybody with Angela Williamson,” which emphasizes diversity within education, the arts, and people. In 2021, she released her second documentary, “Authentic Conversations: Deep Talk with the Masters” featuring Jack Canfield, Patty Aubery and Kate Butler on PBS. Both documentaries are available on PBS’ national website and app.
