Kristen Bakalar
Inspiring employees to move past inclusion into measurable behaviors
As a proud "HR Disruptor," Kristen uses humor, stories, and interactive activities to engage her audience, and to inspire them to go beyond inclusion. Based on her book, "You're Invited: a non-fluffy, straight-to-the-point, easy-to-digest perspective on why belonging is best for business," Kristen encourages people to use an invitational approach to building inclusive environments, as it is the invitation itself that fosters inclusion (not the other way around).
Kristen has a Master's Degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and has a wealth of experience both from the consulting side and as a leader within various HR departments. Having led DEIB departments, L&D divisions, and employee engagement teams, Kristen brings practical and realistic solutions to some of an organization's gnarliest problems.
In her current role as a solopreneur, Kristen helps clients develop and maintain DEIB strategies, HR strategies, and talent management strategies. She works with leaders to develop and grow their impact, and she works with companies to define and disseminate their culture in a way that can be measured and tracked.
Kristen has been a keynote speaker at several private companies, as well as industry events such as SHRM, DisruptHR, and The Institutes. Her approachable, accessible style makes her a crowd favorite and her pragmatism has audience members leaving with actions they can take immediately.
