Carrie is a leading voice in amplifying the voices of older women who are impacted by domestic abuse, a group who are seldom visible.
Carrie leads on Age UK's domestic abuse policy & training at Age UK, a national charity for older people. She is also the founder of knowyourplace.uk a website which uses storytelling and interviews to raise the visibility of women in mid and later life, who are affected by trauma and domestic abuse.
Carrie is an accredited 'Victim Focus' freelance trainer and an independent Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) Chair. She has been a registered social worker since 2001 and worked in the charity sector since 2013.
Carrie's chosen topic for IWD is 'Domestic abuse in later life: A feminist perspective.'
