Nandini Sankara

National strategist with global experience

Nandini Sankara is Vice President, Marketing and Brand Strategy, and Spokesperson of Suburban Propane Partners, L.P., a $1.5 billion publicly-traded energy company in Whippany, NJ. Born in Mumbai, India, she completed her higher education in the United States.

An officer of the company, Nandini is the first woman of color to hold this position in the 95-year old company. Since joining in 2017, she has re-imagined the Marketing, Media Relations and Brand strategy and spearheaded a brand refresh, The Three Pillars of the Suburban Propane Experience.

Nandini was instrumental in launching Suburban Renewable Energy, LLC, (Suburban Renewables) in March 2022 to support the company’s strategic goal of building a renewable-energy platform. In April 2023, Nandini became a member of the Board of the Northern NJ Chapter of the American Red Cross.

She led and implemented key partnerships with the American Red Cross and Major League Baseball powerhouses the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles, NHL favorites, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and with the University of Syracuse Athletics, Rutgers Athletics, and University of Maryland Terrapins Basketball.

Nandini graduated from the University of Bridgeport earning her MBA in Management Information Services (MIS) and Marketing and also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Mumbai, India. She represented the University of Bridgeport in Division II Women’s Soccer.

Nandini was honored by Women in LPG (WINLPG) in 2021 as a runner up for Woman of the Year and was asked to be considered by the organization as a Role Model in 2022. She was also inducted into CHIEF, the only private membership network focused on connecting and supporting women executive leaders.

She is a member of Delta Mu Delta and is a supporting member of Room to Read and AWIB (Asian Women in Business).

Nandini spent her formative years in Mumbai, India and moved to the United States to pursue her higher education. She resides in New Jersey and is a keen world traveler, having visited 60 countries and 6 continents so far and speaks four global languages.
