Ceri Shaw

Senior technology leader, community manager & C-suite executive

Ceri is a senior leader in technology with 20+ years experience as developer, manager and head of department. They have extensive experience in a broad range of technologies from javascript to AI and love talking about new tech innovations. Ceri recently started their own business helping start-ups and scale-ups take control of their tech. Thistle labs supports start-ups to develop tech strategy, build in-house tech teams and manage outsourced development.

Ceri has worked in finTech and financial services as well as EdTech and Health and Wellbeing applications. Ceri is passionate about helping women succeed in technology careers and has mentored women in tech to achieve their career goals.

Ceri has spoken previously at conferences in the agile and technology sector and run community workshops.

Ceri also co-founded the Edinburgh branch of the global Women Who Code organisation. WWCode Edinburgh started 6 years ago and now has over 1000 members. The group runs monthly tech meetup events online and occasionally in-person. The mission is to inspire diverse women in tech succeed at every level.

Ceri would be happy to speak on women in tech panel events about their experiences in tech and why they ended up starting their own business. Ceri can also do longer form talks on their career journey.
