Award winning business leader, professor in health inequalities, women & girls empowerment
Adetoro is a Professor in Health Inequalities. She is a midwife with over 26 years’ experience in health care delivery; higher education teaching and learning; and international health development. She has led education, women and girls empowerment, health and research projects in many countries ensuring equality and equity for all.
Adetoro has successfully led health and education programmes in 17 Low- and Middle-Income countries in Africa, Asia and South America (Bangladesh, Bolivia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierra-Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe). leading global health programmes, research and education.
Adetoro is passionate about giving back to the community. She has contributed immensely to the development of women in business in Liverpool and has mentored many women of black and ethnic minority to invest in properties, to set up their own businesses, return back to work and/or education and generally to contribute to their communities.
Adetoro is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Comfort Ogunbola Adeyemi (COA) Foundation and is the Chair of its board of Trustees. COA Foundation's aim is to empower women and girls through scholarships and grants for education and training. She is a Mentor with the Northern Power Women Network where she mentors graduating students of Universities in the North West region of the United Kingdom.
Adetoro is held in high esteem and an inspiration by girls, young women and men and her commitment, determination, hardwork, resilience, passion, humility and grace has been highly commended by all.
