Dr. Wendy Borlabi
Sport psychologist that has worked with high school, college, Olympians and professional athletes
For the past eight years, Dr. Wendy Borlabi (Dr. B) served as the Director of Mental Performance and Health for the Chicago Bulls and will begin her new role as the Chicago Bulls sport psychology consultant in the 2024/2025 season. She is also the founder of Borlabi Consulting, a performance psychology firm. In addition, she is the Executive Director/Founder of Wisdom Knot which is a nonprofit that focuses on educating inner city youth on careers in sports beyond being an athlete.
Previously, she worked as a sport psychologist for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) at their training center in San Diego for six years (two Winter Olympic and one Summer Olympic Games). In this time, she worked with Olympic hopefuls and Olympians in the area of mental performance.
At James Madison University (JMU) Dr. B worked for five years as the liaison between athletics and the Counseling and Student Development Center (CSDC). In those five years, she began the sport psychology services for student-athletes, coaches and athletic department. In addition, she facilitated the development of the sport psychology department as a division of the JMU athletic department.
She received a B.S. in Psychology from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, a M.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport Psychology from Georgia Southern University, and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Sport Psychology and Exercise Psychology at Argosy University/Phoenix.
Dr. B lives in Chicago with her twelve-year-old boy/girl twins.
