Siobhan Strode

Writer, speaker, activist, campaigner, former Parliamentary candidate, founder of This Sister Speaks

Siobhan Strode is the founder of This Sister Speaks. She's a writer, speaker, activist, campaigner, and former Parliamentary candidate who is on a mission to help other women realise the power they hold within them, to unlock their story and stand up for what they believe. At the age of 6 Siobhan wrote and created her own newspaper, sharing news stories and social justice issues and since then she's gone on to lead campaigns on housing, holiday hunger, education funding and more.

Her bravest moments include: standing in front of thousands of people at Labour Women's Conference and sharing her personal experience of growing up witnessing domestic violence and calling for a change in policy, advocating for women's rights in the workplace when fleeing domestic abuse; as well as running a powerful, ethical and feminist Parliamentary campaign against the then Attorney General, Sir Geoffrey Cox in the 2019 General Election.

Siobhan would love to inspire your people with a workshop or a keynote themed around a few powerful topics:

This Sister Tells Stories - Learn why YOUR story matters, get clear on your WHY and have clarity on your USP, so that you can talk about you and your magic with ease.

This Sister Belongs - Diving into what “impostor syndrome” is and why it’s not as simple as it seems, so that you can begin to recognise it in yourself and other women around you. Let's build a toolkit to combat this patriarchal nonsense.

This Sister Stands Up - Develop your confidence in speaking and showing up, with practical tips and support, so that you have the know-how to raise your voice in the future - whether that's in office meetings or marching on the streets.

Her previous career as a teacher means that she's able to bring a range of strategies and methods to her sessions, differentiating any learning and prioritising inclusivity and accessibility. DEI is the heart and soul of her work. And smashing the white supremacist patriarchy, obvs.
