Kylie Hawker-Green

An engaging communications professional who speaks on community empowerment

Community Economic Development specialist who speaks on community empowerment; geothermal (renewable) energy advocate; professional director and recognised champion for equality in cricket in New Zealand.

Kylie is the General Manager of Enterprise Great Lake Taupo and the owner of PR Plus, a Taupo based public relations and communications agency that she founded in 2013. Kylie is a passionate advocate for genuine community lead economic development practice, and can share learning on how to harness the power of the many and varied to generate positive outcomes for all.  

Having recently graduated with a post-grad qualification in Innovation and Design Thinking, Kylie loves to encourage audiences to look at problems differently and teaches new ways of turning an idea into a business opportunity.

As a professional director, Kylie is a member of the NZ Institute of Directors, she has held a number of governance positions in a variety of sectors and is currently a Director of Bay Venues Ltd (Tauranga), the Chair of the One Taupo Trust (Taupo) and Deputy Chair of Northern Districts Cricket Association.  As a female director, Kylie can share experiences and tactics to help support emerging directors find their feet in a new Board role; and provide tips on how to address inequality and unconscious bias in the workplace.  

Kylie has worked as a member of the New Zealand Cricket 'Women and Cricket' working group for many years and can talk about the challenges of introducing equality measures into a traditionally patriarchal environment.

Regularly called upon to act as MC or keynote speaker, Kylie has a relaxed and open approach to public speaking and can tailor a presentation to suit the audience's requirements and the event manager's expectations.
