Rita Kakati-Shah is an award winning diversity, inclusion and career strategist, international speaker, and Founder of Uma - an International platform that helps companies attract, retain and develop women and minorities in the workplace via diversity, inclusion and retention strategies.
Rita started her career at Goldman Sachs in London where she was awarded the Excellence in Citizenship and Diversity Award during her 10 year career there. Rita is also the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from King’s College London.
She transitioned into the healthcare industry, then relocated to New York City where she took an almost 4 year career hiatus to raise her two children.
Rita founded Uma in response to her personal journey and has successfully conducted workshops and training sessions for many returning candidates, managers and employees, structured return to work and buddy programs, and mentored and coached women looking to enter senior leadership. Uma has a thriving community of women across multiple cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and London.
Rita is also a regularly invited speaker and guest lecturer at various academic institutions, Fortune 500 companies as well as global policy, diversity and inclusion forums, such as UNESCO in Paris, Woman Who Matters in Moscow, Women in Politics in Los Angeles, Living Tomorrow and European Parliament in Brussels, Women in Finance in London and High Water Women in New York.
