Lean In Portugal Regional Leader, Leader of Lean In Women In Tech, Community Builder.
Stela is the Regional Leader of Lean In in Portugal and founder of DiTal.tech. She led two jam-packed Lean In workshops at the last Web Summit, considered the best tech conference of the world. Stela has been recently highlighted as the "women in tech community leader" by the Web Summit.
Stela lived in the Middle East for almost 10 years where she started her volunteer work on women empowerment and fighting bias. Although interested in engines and computers from an early age, she studied Psychology and obtained a Master of Arts at the UCM in Madrid. Her interest in tech kept growing and she worked for a company at the forefront of edge cloud and blockchain, where she worked on community building, events and communications.
While working in tech she experienced what is to be the only woman in the room and decided to take action. Her mission is to to create more equality in tech, so she is building a community and talent platform where diverse talent and European Tech can meet and learn from each other, and more diverse talent gets found and hired for technical and leadership roles, where the numbers of diversity are low.
