Lisa Kearney
Advocate and champion for women in cybersecurity
Lisa Kearney is a cybersecurity veteran who started as a Novell CNA/CNE with the RCMP back east two decades ago.
For the last 13 years, she has provided cybersecurity services to hundreds of companies globally while working with Canada's top service providers and independently as a consultant. She particularly enjoys working in security operations. Most of that work involves optimization through use case development, report and dashboard building, and filters to reduce noise to allow for greater visibility of network traffic and expediate incident response activities. Her current work involves conducting security assessments, threat hunting and security by design with detailed roadmaps which takes a balanced holistic phased approach resulting in lower risk and increased security posture.
During the spring of 2018, Lisa founded the Women CyberSecurity Society (WCS2) to address the lack of support for women and minorities within the cybersecurity industry. WCS2 is a non-profit organization providing support, services and advocacy to women around the globe.
