Dr Farah Essa Zaidi

Dr. Farah Essa Zaid is an accomplished, multi-talented, healthcare professional with over 18 years’ of global experience in practice and training of Advanced and High- Risk Ultrasound in North America, Middle East and Pakistan. Her extensive credentials include MBBS [Dow], PGDip [Can], RDMS [USA], CRGS [Can], MSc. [Edinburgh, UK]. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Clinical Medical Education.

Over the years, Dr. Farah has gained the reputation of being an accomplished, passionate, and highly sought after Clinical Instructor. This is in addition to performing and leadership role managing the Diagnostic Ultrasound department at Dr. Essa Laboratory. She is known for her deep & profound expertise in performing and best-practice scanning techniques for Abdominal, OB/GYN, Vascular, Breast, Musculoskeletal and Soft tissue ultrasound cases.

Dr. Farah is highly adept in designing curriculums, delivering lectures and imparting hands-on clinical training to students, medical residents, and clinicians. Through her proven track record of establishing and conducting ultrasound training programs, Dr.Farah delivered lectures and hands-on training to both university students as well as experienced healthcare professional as part of their Continuing Medical Education (CME).

Backed by her ultrasound education training gained in Toronto, Canada, , as well as Masters degree in Clinical Education from University of Edinburgh, Scotland, Dr. Farah has played a pivotal role in the design of curriculums and course outlines, as well as successful delivery & implementation of the various programs in Canada, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. To-date she has taught and trained over 80 Canadian graduates (University of Toronto Teaching hospitals) and over 200 Saudi graduates (from Riyadh Military Hospital and Princess Noura University). Geared by the sound teaching and training imparted by Dr. Farah, these students are now professionally employed across various hospitals and healthcare facilities. They widely attribute their success to Dr Farah’s inspirational and state-of-the-art ultrasound training &  education.

After gaining international experience & accomplishments, Dr. Farah returned to Pakistan in 2017 having noticed the tremendous need in the country of formal, leading-edge healthcare training programs. Dr. Farah also realized that in order for Pakistani ultrasound practioners to compete on globally,there is a need to bring them at par with their North American counterparts, both in terms of state-of-the-art ultrasound education and techniques, as well as international best practices.

In addition to her professional credentials and experience, Dr. Farah is noted for her dedicated professional and community contributions, she has been also been deeply engaged in the social and community work. She is an active member of the Rotary Club of Pakistan, where she is currently the Maternal & Child Health Chair And  is also the Project Head for Women Entrepreneurship at OPEN Karachi.

She is has also recieved number of awards, including “Women of Substance Award” @ The ICAP (Institute of Chartered Accountants, Pakistan), Health Achievement award as well as the Best Faculty award for 2015 at Princess Nora University, Saudi Arabia.

Dr Farah Essa is also an accomplished singer. She has been engaged in singing since her childhood days when she was a member of Sang SangChalein, Mr.Sohail Rana’s widely acclaimed TV Program.

After her university days, she became a student of the great music maestro and composer, Mr. Nisar Bazmi, who further honed her voice in order to cater it to both traditional and classical music. More recently, Dr. Farah has been representing Pakistan internationally as a singer, and has received acclaim at various countries and diplomatic events.
