Monica Verma

Technology leader with a mission to build a diverse and inclusive society and STEM industries

Monica has 14 years of experience in technology and leadership. She is a spokesperson for diversity and inclusion in society, particularly the STEM industries. She got interested in technology at the age of 10 when she was invited to see the inside of a cockpit for the first time. She was driven and started her career as an engineer and a hacker. She has lived and worked in multiple countries, cultures and backgrounds. She speaks five languages. Today, she is a technology leader, a diversity ambassador and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). She sits at the leadership committee of Women in Cybersecurity Norway. It's a not-for-profit organization for enabling and uplifting women in tech and cybersecurity, as well as provides a safe space and platform for public speaking. In addition, she has her own not-for-profit initiatives where she blogs and talks about diversity and inclusion.

As her contribution for a safer, secure, diverse and inclusive society and workplace, she leads not-for-profit initiatives via MonicaTalksCyber.com and podcast show We Talk Cyber. In 2019, she also won the The Outstanding Security Performance Awards awarded by The Norwegian Business and Industry Security Council. Her mission is to help close the gender gap in society, particularly within the STEM industries such as technology and cybersecurity.
