The Global Sunrise Project

GenZ Filmmaker/photographer & Social Entrepreneur

The Global Sunrise Project, is a youth-led social enterprise which creates positive impact media.

It was founded at the age of 14 by Gen-Z filmmaker/photographer & social entrepreneur Kasha Sequoia Slavner.

It's primary goal is to inspire, motivate and civically engage a global audience. It was founded based on the need for an alternative narrative in media which reflects the resilience, passion, and hope of those triumphantly overcoming adversity and working on solutions toward the Sustainable Development Goals.

The organizations’  first feature-length documentary The Sunrise Storyteller has screened internationally at 60+ festivals and won 28 awards to date, including the Ron Kovic Peace Prize and the Eva Haller Women Transforming Media Award.

The Global Sunrise Project uses its storytelling platform to conduct educational outreach, exhibitions, online campaigns, public speaking, documentary screenings & workshops to empower students to get involved as global citizens and make a positive impact in their local or global communities.
