HCL offices around the world designed IWD cakes to symbolize balance
August 20, 2019
What better way to celebrate International Women's Day than to run your very own IWD Cake Competition among employees around the world?
A standout entry from HCL's Oslo office
HCL's Oslo office IWD cake entry was particularly significant. Each piece of decoration was a clever symbol supporting the aims of International Women's Day. There were balanced triangles for gender equality; poinsettias for happiness, success, and celebration; gold leaves for growth; daisies for innocence, purity and a new beginning; and bows for awareness and uniting communities.
It is impressive that one cake can convey such an important and extended message about gender parity.
Celebrating women at HCL
HCL Technologies, a next-generation global technology company that helps enterprises re-imagine their businesses for the digital age, encouraged their locations to celebrate female empowerment in meaningful and engaging ways that also included an element of celebration.
So, as part of their worldwide International Women's Day activity, HCL locations designed impressive cakes incorporating the IWD theme of #BalanceforBetter. A design, signifying two triangles balanced one on top of the other to illustrate the power, beauty, and importance of balance, was used as the template across HCL locations to add their own creative spin to their IWD cake entries.
Diversity is a key prioirity for HCL
Celebrating diversity is an important part of HCL's diversity agenda. HCLites focus on creating opportunities to celebrate their culture of inclusion.
Always reflecting on further action needed
International Women's Day provides an important opportunity to celebrate women's achievements while reflecting on further action needed to help forge women's equality, both inside the company and externally within the communities it serves.
