Attend the  Beacon Lecture at Queen's University Belfast School of the Built and Natural Environment, coinciding with International Women's Day.

This annual event sees an inspiring speaker who is usually a QUB Alumni speak with staff and students from our entire Department.

This year we have invited Maria O'Loan who is an environmental planning solicitor from a leading commercial law firm to be our speaker.

Maria O'Loan is head of Planning and Environment at Tughan's LLP.

She is one of The Planner’s Women of Influence 2025 and appears on The ENDS Power List of the UKs 100 most influential environmental professionals.

We also extend our invite to the external networking group called 'Women in Planning'.
