Opening on International Women’s Day, March 8th, 2026, Mandell’s Gallery is proud to present "Being Woman," a major multidisciplinary exhibition featuring 27 intergenerational female artists. This landmark show is a highlight of the gallery’s year-long programme, as they celebrate 60 years of Mandell’s Gallery.

Supported by the Norfolk Contemporary Art Society (NCAS), the exhibition explores the diverse subjectivities of the female experience through sculpture, textiles, ceramics, printmaking, painting, and video.

The show features a broad collective of artists with strong ties to Norfolk and Suffolk, alongside a selection of etchings by Paula Rego.

"Being Woman is a collaborative project that explores what it means to be 'woman' at various points in our lives and practices," Annette Rolston, founder of the Being Woman collective.

"By opening on International Women’s Day, we are adding to the global celebration of women’s work and voices, presenting a rich variety of histories and subjectivities that cross borders of both subject matter and generation". Dr Andrea Hannon co-founder of the Being Woman collective.
