Women and the Valleys is an exhibition which offers women artists from the South Wales Valleys and beyond to show their art, based on a theme.

This year's theme is Her Story.

The exhibition is in it's sixth year and it marks International Women’s Day.

It's curated by artist Karin Mear with the support of a team of art practitioners: Judith Beecher, Joy Foster, Lynette Stinchcombe, Novanna Richards and Christina Davies.

The exhibition is held at Cynon Valley Museum in Aberdare.

IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific. IWD is a movement, powered by the collective efforts of all.
