Digital campaign helps Accelerate Action through elevating women-owned businesses

For a more equitable society, it's imperative to Accelerate Action for women-owned businesses.

Women's businesses can help boost the economy, close the gender wealth and income gap, and create job opportunities.

Women entrepreneurs also bring diverse perspectives to the table by accelerating innovation, progress, and creativity across different industries.

Buying their products, using their services, and increasing their visibility all helps Accelerate Action for women in business.

One organization playing a key part in helping to increase the visibility of women-led businesses is Aotearoa/New Zealand's largest Out of Home media company, oOh!media.

oOh!media is stepping up to Accelerate Action for women-led businesses with a nationwide digital campaign to help spread awareness of women entrepreneurs.

Celebrating innovation and success

More than 25 women-owned and led businesses across Aotearoa are showcased on oOh!'s nationwide Out of Home network to celebrate their innovation and success.

Following the buzz of the IWD 2024 campaign, the 2025 initiative aligns with the Accelerate Action theme that boldly urges faster progress towards gender equality.

General Manager of oOh! NZ Nick Vile comments on the importance of the campaign, saying: "It’s more than visibility - it’s action. Through our national platform, we’re giving women-led businesses a megaphone to showcase their powerful economic and social impact across Aotearoa. We're especially proud to be leveraging our regional networks this year, ensuring locally grown businesses from every corner of the country are represented.”

Featuring a diverse range of industries

Businesses like Get Up To Skateboard (Taranaki), Abel Fragrance (Wellington), Untouched World (Canterbury), and Art + Body Creative Studio (Bay of Plenty), among others from eight regions, are spotlighted. For many of these businesses, the exposure can be a game-changer.

Katarina Rajh, founder of Get Up To Skateboard, a skate school with a special girls’ programme in Taranaki, shared her excitement: "Being part of this campaign means everything for small businesses like mine. Visibility is key, and the support from oOh! opens doors to a whole new audience."

Abel Fragrance Founder and CEO, Frances Shoemack, echoes the impact: "As a business with global ambitions, visibility in our home market is incredibly valuable. This campaign celebrates women-led businesses of all sizes, and we’re proud to be part of a movement that champions action towards equality."
