Victoria Baptiste
Photographer challenging perceptions through powerful imagery and founder of The Beautiful You Movement
Victoria is a body positive photographer based in the UK, her work ethos centres around love, kindness, compassion and encouraging her subjects to be themselves in front of the camera in order to capture and celebrate their natural beauty.
With a career spanning 14 years as a professional photographer working with women who had overcome difficult life challenges, she knew that she wanted to make a difference when setting up her own company by working with women to produce powerful images that told their stories.
In 2016 Victoria decided to take what she had learned from this work and apply it to building workshops for young people to help encourage mindfulness, self-esteem and a body positive attitude. She has worked with charities, youth groups and schools to lead workshops for young people aged 11-19, using creativity as her weapon of choice.
In 2018 The Beautiful You Movement was born to take this work further by challenging perceptions around specific subjects. This movement is about self-acceptance, embracing who we are, allowing ourselves to exist unapologetically and standing together to support and empower each other. Her most recent campaign 'Beautiful FBB' is a collection of images and interviews with female bodybuilders. Its aim was to highlight the affects of body shaming and online trolling and helping people to understand how their behaviour towards others impacts confidence and mental wellbeing.
This years campaign will be dedicated to #ChallengeToChange and will celebrate women who are challenging change in their own way.
Victoria is available to lead interactive talks on a variety of topics and can also design something bespoke for the occasion.
