Anamika Madhuraj is a globally recognized expert in gender-responsive governance, peacebuilding, and international advocacy.
She has worked at the highest offices of the United Nations, including the Executive Office of the Secretary-General (EOSG) and the Office of the President of the General Assembly (OPGA), as well as across governments, multilateral organizations, and NGOs, shaping policies that have empowered conflict-affected women, youth, and marginalized communities worldwide.
With a decade of leadership across the UN system, Anamika has driven high-level advocacy on the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agendas, shaping reintegration frameworks and crisis response strategies across MENA, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.
She has successfully integrated gender-sensitive indicators, CRSV protections, and youth engagement strategies into national policies, directly benefiting 20,000+ women and girls.
A Harvard graduate and author of 10+ UN reports, Anamika has led global advocacy on EVAW and GEWE priorities, mobilizing political commitments and funding for feminist-led initiatives.
From supporting feminist coalitions in MENA to strengthening Indigenous women’s movements in Latin America, she has co-created community-driven campaigns on land rights, GBV protection, and education reform.
