Sheena Foster is a dynamic leader, environmental advocate, and nonprofit executive dedicated to fostering community engagement and environmental stewardship.

As the Executive Director of Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, she works to bridge intergenerational and multi-ethnic communities through conservation, education, and advocacy.

With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, Sheena has a strong background in grant management, strategic partnerships, and community development.

A former National Park Service ranger with a deep commitment to climate resilience and equity, Sheena has expanded the reach of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, ensuring accessibility and representation for historically underserved communities.

She also serves as a Commissioner with the Montgomery County Commission for Women and a board member of the Maryland Legislative Agenda for Women, advancing initiatives that empower women, girls, and families.

Sheena is a full-time seminarian at Wartburg Theological Seminary, where she integrates faith, justice, and sustainability in her work.

A passionate advocate for inclusion, she has championed initiatives that address the intersection of environmental justice, public service, and faith-rooted leadership.

Her lived experience as a Hurricane Katrina survivor, resettlement advocate, and international labor rights supporter informs her commitment to creating equitable spaces where all voices are heard.

Whether leading conservation efforts, mentoring future leaders, or engaging in global dialogues on sustainability, Sheena is a powerful voice for transformative change.
