Book IWD Speaker: Gabriella Pomare

International speaker, lawyer & bestselling author helping women master communication, emotional intelligence & leadership presence to thrive personally & professionally in complex, high-pressure environments

Gabriella Pomare is a Sydney-based family lawyer, Partner at Norton Law Group Family Lawyers, award-winning author and leadership communicator. Alongside leading a growing boutique legal practice, Gabriella speaks nationally and internationally on leadership under pressure, communication, resilience, identity transition and the evolving role of women in high-performance environments. Her work bridges professional leadership with deeply human communication, exploring how women can build authority, clarity and confidence without burnout, over-accommodation or self-sacrifice.

Gabriella’s leadership perspective has been shaped both professionally and personally. She leads teams in emotionally complex environments, advises families navigating high-conflict systems, and has rebuilt her own identity through separation and motherhood. Through this dual lens, she has witnessed how many capable, high-achieving women unconsciously soften their voice, over-function emotionally, over-explain decisions and shrink their authority in order to maintain harmony. While often praised as “being supportive” or “being agreeable,” these patterns quietly undermine confidence, sustainability and leadership presence over time.

Academically, Gabriella holds degrees in Law and Journalism from UNSW Sydney and completed part of her legal studies at Columbia Law School in New York. In 2025, she published her debut book, The Collaborative Co-Parent (Morgan James, New York), which has received international recognition, including a Distinguished Favourite in the NYC Big Book Awards. She is a regular media contributor and keynote speaker across Australia and the United States, known for her ability to translate complex systems, emotional intelligence and communication science into practical, empowering tools for modern women and leaders.

In her keynote work, Gabriella explores what she calls the “Good Girl Blueprint” — the unspoken social conditioning many women inherit around being agreeable, accommodating, emotionally responsible and conflict-averse. She examines how these deeply embedded patterns show up in leadership, relationships, motherhood and moments of personal transition, often driving burnout, resentment, self-doubt and communication breakdown.

Drawing on her professional expertise and lived experience, Gabriella developed the Four Pillars of Communication — a practical framework designed to help women move from emotional exhaustion and people-pleasing into confident, values-led communication. Her work equips women to regulate emotions, communicate clearly, establish boundaries and lead with integrity, without losing empathy or authenticity.

Gabriella’s keynotes are grounded, compelling and highly actionable, offering audiences tangible tools they can apply immediately in leadership, career progression, relationships and personal growth. Her message is especially resonant for high-performing women navigating complex roles, invisible emotional labour and evolving identity.
